How is Mac OS different from Windows?

To answer how Mac OS differs from Windows, you need to first look at history. It was not prosaic and cloudless on the personal computer. Computer technology began to be developed for large-scale calculations; in 1964, the IBM System/360 appeared, with which ordinary users gained access to the mainframe.

The Altair 8800 minicomputer appeared in 1975, the Apple I personal computer in 1976, and the Apple II, Tandy, and Commodore PET in 1977. During the same period, work began on the familiar IBM PC. Everything will be an order of magnitude faster, and the picture will be clearer and more powerful in color.

The design of Mac OS is also significantly different from Windows, and for the better:

  • soft tones;

  • beautiful, airy interface;

  • instant execution of commands;

  • minimum requirements for setting up a computer;

  • all necessary software is installed from the manufacturer;

  • absence of viruses.

We also note that if necessary, you can install Windows, for example, if you require specific software that only works under Windows.

Why then choose Windows over Mac OS?

First of all, this is due to the choice not of the operating system, but of physical devices. If you choose IBM-compatible computers, you will have to work on Windows, since it is impossible to install Mac OS. Laptops that are familiar to many may have some disadvantages, but the main advantage is their low price and a wide variety of software, including free ones.

At the same time, the high performance of the device and sufficient amount of RAM make the work convenient. The distinctive features of Windows include:

  • ease of setup and familiarity of appearance;

  • advanced functionality with many additional features;

  • fairly correct operation of the physical device and a low percentage of failures;

  • recovery mode, which requires minimal knowledge from the user;

  • availability of free software;

  • antivirus software required.

In general, despite all the advantages of Mac OS, consumers often choose Windows because of its versatility and affordability.
